Order Saddle Stitch Booklet Printing and Binding

Saddle-stitched can be used for a wide variety of booklets, including programs, pamphlets, newsletters, thin magazines and catalogs, wall calendars, comics, direct mailers and more. Saddle-stitching is also ideal for short run print projects, one-time events (such as a sporting event or fundraiser), and other printed materials that don’t need a long lifespan. When designing a saddle-stitched booklet, avoid putting text or graphics too close to the "fold" of the book’s spine or near an edge that will be trimmed. Doing so may accidentally cut off part of the booklet’s content.

Why is it called saddle-stitching if the binding uses staples?

The name refers to the binding process rather than the type of stitching used. The folded pages of the
booklet are draped over an apparatus that looks like a saddle – hence the name “saddle-stitching.” Any
bookbinding process that uses wire staples is usually referred to as saddle-stitching.

What is the difference between saddle-stitch vs perfect bound?

Saddle-stitch binding uses two staples to hold the book together, whereas perfect bound books are glue bound.

Why are the pages only in multiples of 4?

Saddle stitch books are stapled in the middle of the book and folded in half. Because of this process, we have to print the books on a longer sheet, so that when they’re folded in half, the folded dimensions will match the final dimension.

For example, if you ordered an 8.5 x 11” book, we would have to print your books on an 11 x 17” sheet and fold it in half to make your 8.5 x 11” book.

Since saddle stitch books are folded and stapled with a longer sheet, we can only increase or decrease the page count in multiples of four. If you have and odd-numbered book, we can add blank pages to accommodate your design.

What is the highest number of pages that can be used with a saddle-stitched binding?

Saddle stitching works best for booklets with 64 pages or less. You can have more pages, but the booklet may not lie as flat as you would like. Also, higher page count booklets may require more than two staples, the number used in most saddle-stitched booklets.

Why use Printivity’s saddle stitch printing service?

Every order comes backed with our customer satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy with our quality, we do our best to make it right.

What is the best type of paper to use with saddle-stitched binding?

That’s another advantage of saddle-stitching – it works well with many different paper types and finishes. This allows you to give your booklet a polished, professional look even with saddle-stitch’s low binding costs.

Can a Saddle-Stitched book allow for printing on its spine?

No. the spines on a saddle-stitched book are not flat, which removes the option of including any printing on the spine.

What size books can be bound with saddle-stitching?

Saddle-stitching can be used with almost all size book, from mini-books to oversized and everything in-between. It can also accommodate any layout orientation such as traditional portrait, landscape, or square.

How soon can I get my saddle stitched booklets?

Your exact delivery dates may vary depending on quantity and page count, but in general, you can get your books in your hands within 2 business days.

    Fulfilling your business needs

Before the dawn of the internet, printing catalogs was the prime method for getting in front of an audience and presenting all of the most relevant information about your business and product selection.

But, just because online advertising options now exist, that doesn’t mean that you should ignore the unique benefits that catalog printing can offer.

So why are print catalog solutions effective?

    Let’s explore below.

    We offer cheap catalog printing

Printivity has the best prices online for cheap catalog printing. We print and bind all of our catalogs at our production facilities located here in the United States. To keep our prices low, we rely on the automation of our production print and bindery equipment to keep efficiencies high and errors low. We’re confident that you won’t find a better price, but if you do, send us a competitive quote, and we’ll meet or beat it.

    Benefits of catalog printing

When a business prints catalog advertising, it allows companies to get their products presented in a controlled way in front of their specific targeted audiences.

But what other benefits does printing catalogue marketing offer?

Well, one of the main advantages is the format itself. Catalog design is very similar to the process of magazine printing, and many companies use that idea to turn their catalogs into entertaining journals that promote their products at the same time.

You can use images, text in various formats, and attention-drawing design elements, all of which are very helpful when trying to convey your message.

What’s more, if you choose a reliable provider like Printivity, catalog printing is cheap, especially since you’re all but guaranteed to reach a lot of people and get your products out there.

And when you use an online catalog printing service such as the one offered by Printivity, you also aren’t restricted by working hours and can place your orders on your own time.

Design tips for online catalog printing

While catalog printing can be very effective, it will only deliver the desired results if you can make the design appealing and easy to read.

Since most catalogs are designed to showcase the selection of products, you should make them the central piece of your catalog, and use a variety of professional images and descriptions to get your main selling points across.

It’s also crucial to prominently display your contact information and have a clear call to action, since you want the reader to not only learn about your products but to also make an order.

Many companies get too caught up in the design process and forget that, in the end, it is a marketing tool and should primarily help to drive sales for your company. So while the design is certainly important, every decision that you make should be geared towards the ultimate goal so that the design elements don’t become a distraction.

However, at the same time, you should also design the catalog with your target audience in mind, and make every detail, from the color scheme to the layout, fit their expectations and preferences.

Popular paper selection and sizes for catalogs

At Printivity, we offer a range of different paper options and sizes that have been chosen because of their effectiveness and the demand from our clients.

We have different sized sheets of uncoated, gloss, or matte papers, all of which have their advantages and price points that can fit your budget and goals.

We’re great at helping customers with their custom catalog printing projects. For catalog sizes, we offer a variety of sizes from 4.75x4.75 to 12x12. We have paper weights as thin as 60# text to as thick as 100# cover and paper types such as uncoated, gloss, and matte. We also offer UV coating, matte lamination, and clear lamination for your covers. In addition, we offer a variety of finishing services such as shrink wrapping, poly bagging, rounded corners, and even three hole punching.

    Multiple catalog binding options

Catalogs can be either saddle stitched or perfect bound. Each binding method is unique in price, durability, quality, and presentation. If you need help deciding which binding method is best for your catalog, please contact our customer service team.

The perfect bounding process is the leading choice for softcover books such as paperbacks, as it provides a quality look and feel at an affordable cost.

Some of the common uses of catalogs include magazines, corporate reports, and even product brochures.

This option also has numerous paper and finishing options, so you can customize the catalog to fit your brand and your audience’s expectations.

However, the saddle stitch or staple binding remains our most popular option, providing a simple yet professional solution in a range of situations.

This type of binding is ideal for one-time events or situations where the materials don’t need a long lifespan, so it’s often used in various events.

When putting together a catalog printing order, it’s important to understand the best approach in your situation and choose a cheap catalog printing option that accomplishes your goals.
