For our customer, Tiffany, volunteering is more than giving time, but also about leaving a lasting impression. Tiffany and her family have been drawn to giving back to The Gem Foundation in many ways.
Since 2014, the founders and team at The Gem Foundation have built a remarkable village in Uganda, offering a loving home to special needs orphans and abandoned children. Their mission is to ensure every child receives care and attention they might not have found elsewhere. The dedicated team, including nurses, teachers, nannies, social workers, cooks, therapists, and more, work tirelessly around the clock to support and nurture the children at The Gem Foundation.
Tiffany organizes fundraisers that not only generate vital support for The Gem Foundation but also unite her local community. Her family has authored several children’s books, featuring illustrations inspired by people from the towns they’ve called home. These books serve as treasured keepsakes for families, celebrate children’s creativity, and help raise awareness and funds for a meaningful charity that many may be discovering for the first time.

We invited our customers to share their stories, telling us about their businesses, unique journeys, and the pivotal role print marketing plays in their success. Can you tell us about your business and what you do?
Our family volunteers and raises funds for The Gem Foundation, a village for special needs children and adults in Uganda. We have hosted Mom Proms, epic yard sales, and book sales with great success. The Gem Foundation cares for more than 65 children and has seen scared and withdrawn children find their smile again. Through sponsorship, The Gem Foundation is able to provide full-time care, therapy, and education. All proceeds from our fundraising helps these vulnerable children reach their fullest potential.

What role does print play in your business?
Our family has written several children’s books about towns and cities we have lived in. People have a lot of pride for their hometowns, and the landmarks, businesses, organizations, and geography that make it special. Writing a children’s bedtime story to highlight these cities or small towns make these printed books so special.
Have you seen any specific results from your printed materials?
We have raised several thousand dollars for The Gem Foundation through printing saddle-stitch full-color books. The exceptional quality of Printivity’s products are very cost effective for our fundraisers.

After receiving our shipment, we sold out of books within two weeks without advertising it. Not only did we need to order more, we doubled our order to keep up with the demand. This book is extra special, because students at our local high school are the artists who designed this book. They volunteered their free time to create something special for vulnerable children in Uganda. Think global, act local!
