Perfect Bound Books
Spiral Bound Booklets
Saddle-stitched can be used for a wide variety of booklets, including programs, pamphlets, newsletters, thin magazines and catalogs, wall calendars, comics, direct mailers and more. Saddle-stitching is also ideal for short run print projects, one-time events (such as a sporting event or fundraiser), and other printed materials that don’t need a long lifespan. When designing a saddle-stitched booklet, avoid putting text or graphics too close to the "fold" of the book’s spine or near an edge that will be trimmed. Doing so may accidentally cut off part of the booklet’s content.
The name refers to the binding process rather than the type of stitching used. The folded pages of the
booklet are draped over an apparatus that looks like a saddle – hence the name “saddle-stitching.” Any
bookbinding process that uses wire staples is usually referred to as saddle-stitching.
Saddle-stitch binding uses two staples to hold the book together, whereas perfect bound books are glue bound.
Saddle stitch books are stapled in the middle of the book and folded in half. Because of this process, we have to print the books on a longer sheet, so that when they’re folded in half, the folded dimensions will match the final dimension.
For example, if you ordered an 8.5 x 11” book, we would have to print your books on an 11 x 17” sheet and fold it in half to make your 8.5 x 11” book.
Since saddle stitch books are folded and stapled with a longer sheet, we can only increase or decrease the page count in multiples of four. If you have and odd-numbered book, we can add blank pages to accommodate your design.
Saddle stitching works best for booklets with 64 pages or less. You can have more pages, but the booklet may not lie as flat as you would like. Also, higher page count booklets may require more than two staples, the number used in most saddle-stitched booklets.
Every order comes backed with our customer satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy with our quality, we do our best to make it right.
That’s another advantage of saddle-stitching – it works well with many different paper types and finishes. This allows you to give your booklet a polished, professional look even with saddle-stitch’s low binding costs.
No. the spines on a saddle-stitched book are not flat, which removes the option of including any printing on the spine.
Saddle-stitching can be used with almost all size book, from mini-books to oversized and everything in-between. It can also accommodate any layout orientation such as traditional portrait, landscape, or square.

Addressing Your Company’s Needs
When looking for ways to generate more exposure for a company, booklets can be the perfect platform to reach a very targeted audience quickly.
Today, when so much of promotion takes place online, having a way to reach people directly is a huge plus. This is why booklet printing is once again on the rise as a powerful alternative to digital marketing.
But what are the benefits of booklet printing and binding services? And is cheap booklet printing possible?
Let’s explore everything you need to know about custom booklet printing below.
Reasons to Print Booklets
With so many opportunities to promote a business, you might be wondering – why should you bother with designing a booklet and printing it? And what types of situations could benefit from it?
Well, the truth is, booklets are just as useful as ever before, and are used by companies in all industries to get their messages through more effectively.
For one thing, a print booklet can be incredibly useful when you have to make a convincing sales pitch – the format and size of the booklet allows you to present a compelling argument in a simple and visually appealing way, which can help emphasize your points and get people over the fence.
You can also use booklets to showcase your product listings and get people excited about your best offers and promotions.
Finally, booklets are an excellent resource for educating your customers, showing them why your company is the right choice and how your products can benefit them.
Benefits of Booklet Printing
As we’ve already discussed in the previous section, there are numerous ways how you can effectively use booklets in your marketing and interactions with customers.
Now, let’s look at some of the biggest benefits of booklet printing and distribution, identifying the specific advantages that make using them a smart choice.
First off, when you’re printing booklets, you have the freedom and flexibility to create an eye-catching design that will not only impact the people you distribute it to but may end up affecting others that end up seeing it, educating them about your company and increasing your reach.
What’s more, although many companies think printing is expensive, it’s actually quite affordable compared to some other marketing approaches, especially when you order in bulk.
And when you receive your booklets, it’s not difficult to distribute them to a large number of people quickly, driving new business almost instantly.
Finally, since you can start seeing results quickly, booklets are the perfect tool to let your audience know about special promotions, deals, or offers that you’re running, as the attention-drawing design is much more likely to deliver your message than other marketing approaches.
Design Tips for Booklet Printing
Even though using the services of booklet printing companies can be incredibly effective, you need to make sure that the design is appealing if your campaigns are going to be profitable.
The good news is that you don’t need an arts degree to create beautiful booklets that deliver results. All you need is to follow a few simple principles to make the most of the budget and the booklet space that you have.
First off, you must figure out what you want the booklet to accomplish, and how to best present the information to the reader. Try to clearly separate different sections and highlight the essential parts so that the reader immediately notices the messages that matter most.
One thing you should avoid is trying to get by with low-quality images. You can be sure that if they look bad on the computer screen, the pixelated quality will look even worse on a print, so find or take high-quality pictures that will give your booklet a professional look.
Finally, if you want your booklet to look good, you must leave enough space for the binding. Otherwise, some of your messages will get warped or covered, and that can significantly reduce the effectiveness of your campaign.
Types of Booklet Printing
There’s an abundance of online booklet printing options and types, as they can be designed to fit almost any situation.
Whether you’re looking to distribute an informative booklet, or are putting together a reference guide, you can find a format and size that will allow you to display the information in a convenient way for the reader.
Some companies use booklets regularly, sending out newsletters to their customer lists, which showcase new products, share news, and offer exclusive deals.
If your product is more complicated, you could even use booklets as instruction manuals that detail different uses and things that should be considered.
Booklets offer numerous opportunities for businesses that know how to use them and understand the best way to leverage print advertising.
