This method is best for businesses focusing on local marketing that want to target a specific area. The cost varies on many variables, but all work will go through your printing company and USPS. All you will need to supply is the postcard design and the zip codes you want to reach.

Direct mail mailing services campaigns use a curated list of names, addresses, and other collected information to send mail to specific people. These lists can either be collected through your own efforts when you ask consumers to sign up for marketing collateral or can be bought from third parties. Direct mail is a more personalized mailing method because each customer’s name and address will be printed directly on the collateral. Like EDDM, most of the work for Direct Mail is in the hands of the experts: printers and USPS.
We recommend using EDDM or Direct Mail for most of your mailing marketing needs. However, there are instances that you may not qualify through USPS for either service. Since EDDM and Direct Mail are used for bulk mailing, you will need to provide a sufficient amount of addresses in order to use them. If your campaign is under 200 pieces (via USPS.com), you will need to do the mailing work yourself.
But don’t be discouraged! Your printer can still use VDP, variable data printing, to print the names and addresses of your target audience on individual postcards. Once printing is complete and mailed to you, your business will need to add a stamp to each postcard and take to your local Post Office.
Mailing postcards yourself has a higher cost, because you’ll need to provide the addresses as well as pay higher cost for postage. With EDDM, you receive a discounted postage fee!
